COLLAR
SHAPES

We all know: the collar can make or break the shirt. The perfect collar makes every shirt look extra interesting and well-dressed, same with the wearer. Here at colours & sons we exclusively use 4 types of collars.

STAND-UP COLLAR

Having been in practice for more than 100 years, this collar style is one of our classics. It is a rather stiff and upright collar, that especially in summer transforms every outfit into a special, summer-inspired look.

BUTTON-DOWN COLLAR

As versatile as the kent collar, our designers love to use the button-down collar. Characteristic for this collar shape are the collar ends which are buttoned down onto the shirt chest. This makes the shirt look sport and casual, which is exactly why we like it that much!

NEW-KENT COLLAR

This is not only one of our all time favourites, it is also the most commonly used shape of turn down collars. In contrast to the classical kent collar the new-kent collar has a spreading angle of approximately 120-140° which gives a modern appearance.

SHARK COLLAR

When we talk about the shark collar, the name says it all: The collar looks through the widely extended collar tipps as if a shark would have bitten off a piece. This collar style definitely creates a more elegant look and can also perfectly be worn in the day to day office life.
